How Your Gift Helps
Girls do great things in Girl Scouting. They do so with the support of adult mentors who give today’s girls plenty of hands-on opportunities in leadership, teamwork, career exploration, outdoor skills, friendship and fun. The financial support of members, friends, alumnae, foundations, corporations and local United Way organizations helps girls succeed.

Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey needs support to cover operational costs for leader background checks and training, program development, materials, and maintenance on our three camps and service centers.   Many members and friends of GSNNJ to not realize that 100% of the annual $12 membership fee goes to our national organization, Girl Scout of the USA, to cover branding, program development and research.  Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey needs local support to sustain our infrastructure and reach more girls.

Help girls develop to their full potential and realize their dreams by making a monetary contribution.  All gifts stay in the local community to help girls in Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and northern Warren counties.

There are many ways to support GSNNJ:

Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey is the best place to invest in your girl’s future.  We encourage each family to contribute $50 to the Annual Fund Campaign.  Gifts to the Annual Fund Campaign are used to help girls discover friendships and the world around them, connect with projects and activities of interest, and take action to make our communities and the world a better place. Annual membership fees go to Girl Scouts of the USA and troop dues remain with the troop, but an Annual Fund Contribution is a way families can directly benefit Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey.

Give the gift of summer camp, where girls can have the experience of a lifetime. Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey operates several camp programs: day camp at Lake Rickabear in Kinnelon, NJ and Jockey Hollow Day Camp in Mendham, NJ, a resident camp in Glen Spey, New York, and summer programs in Paterson and Passaic, New Jersey.  GSNNJ provides assistance to girls in need for one session so girls can experience the benefits of summer camp, gain a strong respect for the environment, form long-lasting friendships with other girls and explore her interests in an outdoor setting.  Financial assistance to those who couldn’t otherwise participate is also provided for girls and adult memberships and some programs.

Many local companies support the local United Way organizations, or host giving initiatives where employees can give directly to their favorite non-profit organization. Employees can designate their gifts to Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey through United Way or independent campaigns. In addition, many local corporations offer matching gift programs and gifts to employees who regularly volunteer. For more information about this form of corporate partnership, please contact Karen Cerreta, chief development officer, at kcerreta@gsnnj.org.

Gifts to GSNNJ can be spread out throughout the year. For information on monthly or quarterly giving options, please contact Jamie Kay Krenek, executive associate at jkrenek@gsnnj.

Celebrate the memory of a loved one through a Memorial Gift to GSNNJ; your gift will be acknowledged to the family or your designee.  Tribute gifts can be made in honor of someone’s special occasion, like a birthday, anniversary or Gold Award. Memorial and Tribute Gifts support the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls in our region.  For more information, contact Jamie Kay Krenek, executive associate at jkrenek@gsnnj.org.
