Help with Hurricane Irene
 

Are you wondering how you can help families that were affected by Hurricane Irene?  Girl Scouts and troops can respond in a variety of ways.  There are opportunities listed below for donations of needed items.  If you have more information or another way Girl Scouts can help, please contact Jamie Watkins so we can post these opportunities for everyone.

Accepting donations Monday through Friday from 3 - 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10a.m. - 4 p.m, and Sundays 1 - 4 p.m..  These items will be available to anyone affected by the flood.  Donations will be accepted for the next two weeks; flood victims can come and take what they need for the next four weeks. The church is now accepting only fans and gift cards.
 

 

Denville School Supplies

The town of Denville suffered a lot of damagein the floods. As a results, nightly dinner in the Town Hall are held each night from 5 - 7 p.m.

CUMAC (Center of United Methodist  Aid to the Community) of Paterson has been holding a school supply drive all summer, but now the need for supplies is even greater due to the floods resulting from Hurricane Irene.  They are collecting:

The Father English Community Center is collecting the following items to be distributed to the citizens of Paterson who have been greatly affected by the hurricane and subsequent flooding.  There is particular need for baby supplies and baby food for families with infants.

»  New or gently used clothing​

 

Riverside Vets

The Riverside Vets are accepting clothing for children and adults. Many families are staying with the Riverside Vets due to flooding and are in need of assistance. The Riverside Vets will arrange pick-ups if donations cannot be brought to their facility.

Lake Hiawatha Flood Relief

Our friends and neighbors in Lake Hiawatha have been hit hard by the recent flooding in our community. Kids are heading back to school and some have nothing. We are accepting donations at the Landmark Florist Shopping Plaza (near Rita's).

Wayne Girl Scouts are collecting new socks and underwear for youths, as well as healthy snacks that will be provided to our youngest flood victims. Bring these items to the Wayne Civic Center. Tell them that they are Girl Scout donations. The Girl Scouts will distribute the items to the children in Wayne.
