Girl Scouts Forever Green (GSFG), our 100th Anniversary Take Action Project, is a global effort to improve the environment and protect natural resources. We invite you to lead your family, school, and community in three month-long Take Action projects in February, March, or April. In addition, take the Online Pledge today to make a yearlong commitment to environmental efforts.
Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey participated in the Earth Hour project in March and is participating in the Reduce Waste project in April. At the end of the month you can register your activities and see how much girls really can change the world! Click here to register your project!
During the month of April, learn about the effects of waste on our environment, reduce the number of discarded single-use plastic bottles and bags, and increase aluminum recycling rates. For more information and project ideas go to: GSUSA's Reduce Plastic Waste webpage.
Earth Day is April 22nd. If your troop or group is planning a community cleanup to celebrate Earth Day, ShopRite would like to help! ShopRite is giving out free trash bags and gloves to local non-profit groups to assist with their cleanup projects. If you would like to receive a supply of free bags and gloves, please call 1-800-ShopRite (1-800-746-7748) to sign up! The bags and gloves will be sent to your local ShopRite store for pickup.
