About the Camp
Lake Rickabear is a 332-acre property with a 40-acre spring fed lake, owned and operated by Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey, and located in the woodlands of Kinnelon. The property also features a beautiful sandy beach along the lakeshore.

Lake Rickabear features three lodges, 3 yurts (permanent tented structures), cabin units, campsites with tent units upon raised platforms, and pitch-your-own tent sites. The facilities have nearby bathhouses with flush toilets and hot showers. Two covered pavilions are available for sheltered outdoor activities. The sports field is spacious and is the site of sport activities, including archery. At the lakefront, swim lessons and supervised swim times can be held, as well as the use of rowboats, peddleboats, and funyaks.  For more information about the facilities, visit the camp facilities page.

Summer day camp is held annually for seven weeks in July and August, providing girls in grades 1-12 the opportunity to make new friends, experience the outdoors, learn skills and have fun adventures in the safety of trained counselors and staff.  For more information visit the summer day camp page.

Lake Rickabear is an accredited camp of the American Camp Association (ACA), and meets all standards of the New Jersey Department of Health, American Red Cross, and Girl Scouts of the USA.
