Girl Scouts of the USA National Convention 2014
The 2014 Girl Scout National Council Session/53rd Convention will take place October 16-19, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over the course of four days, Girl Scouts will take the national stage, bringing Girl Scout staff and volunteers together from across the country. In addition to conducting the business of the Movement, GSUSA offers exciting new educational opportunities and conducts a groundbreaking series of strategic conversations about the future.
National Girl Scout Leadership Institute (GSLI): Girls Change the World
On October 16-19, 2014, Girl Scouts from throughout the USA will gather together in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Girl Scout Leadership Institute (GSLI): Girls Change the World. GSLI is offered to girls 13 and older as an integrated track within the National Convention. GSLI participants are included in the National Convention Opening Ceremony as well as other scheduled events. Attending the GSLI is a once in a lifetime event for girls.
Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey (GSNNJ) is now accepting applications for candidates to attend the GSLI which is run in conjunction with the national Girl Scout Convention. The theme of the 2014 GSLI is “Girls Change the World”.

Girls must be at least 14 years of age by October 16, 2014 and a currently registered girl member with Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey.
The convention runs from October 16-19, 2014 but candidates must be available to travel from October 15-19, 2014. Travel, food, lodging, and conference fees are paid for by GSNNJ for up to seven girl participants. Chaperones are provided by GSNNJ.
An application and interview process is used to select the girl candidates who will attend the GSLI to represent GSNNJ. Interested girls must complete the attached application, follow the instructions for references, and have all paperwork submitted by March 21, 2014 to firstname.lastname@example.org
