Juliette Gordon Low not only founded Girl Scouts, but gave us our first legacy gift by bequeathing the first national headquarters to Girl Scouts in her will. Come learn about Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey’s Juliette Gordon Low Society and how you can continue your commitment to girls’ leadership with a planned gift.

Our reception will include remarks by Stacy A. Cordery, author of “Juliette Gordon Low: The Remarkable Founder of Girl Scouts.” Books will be available for purchase at $15/each and Ms. Cordery will be available to sign copies of her book at the end of the program. In addition, we will hear highlights on how to demystify estate planning and planned giving from Estate Planning and Administration attorney and board member of GSNNJ, Laura Kelly.
 
Stacy Cordery is a historical biographer and professor of History at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois. Her newest book, Juliette Gordon Low: The Remarkable Founder of the Girl Scouts, has earned advance praise from the Chicago Tribune, the Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, Kirkus, and Publisher's Weekly. Her third book, Alice: Alice Roosevelt Longworth, from White House Princess to Washington Power Broker, was a New York Times notable non-fiction book and widely extolled for its depth of research and engaging prose.
 
 
Laura Kelly concentrates her practice in trusts and estates matters. In addition to the drafting of wills and trusts and the administration of trusts and estates, Laura advises high net worth clients regarding sophisticated estate planning with an emphasis on estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer and income tax planning. She assists clients with the planning and implementation of lifetime transfers of property, including the management of transfers of real estate, life insurance and partnership interests. Laura is a sought-after speaker on a variety of estate planning topics.
