-       New Girl Scout Leaders
-       New Girl Scout Co-Leaders
-       New Leader Orientation (NLO) facilitated by your Service Unit Manager or designee or
         Membership Development Manager.
-       Personal review of Volunteer Essentials
Course Description:
Girl Scout Basics is a continuation of New Leader Orientation (NLO). This course is for New Leaders and New Co-Leaders Only. This course includes a basic understanding of Girl Scouts and grade level requirements. The following materials will be covered:  the history of Girl Scouting, the Girl Scout Promise & Law, Safety Wise, traditions, pluralism, diversity, program goals, awards, girl/adult partnerships, planning & progression, troop management, troop finances and the age level information necessary to facilitate the learning process for girls. 
Girl Scout Daisy Basics is a 3 hour course while the Girl Scout Brownie Basics and Girl Scout Junior Basics courses are 3 ½ hour courses.  All program materials are available at Council Shops.  All course materials will be 3-hole punched.  Please bring a 3-hole ring binder, Safety Wise and any course materials to your training session.
Already taken a Girl Scout Basics course?
If you have already taken Girl Scout Basics, but your Girl Scouts have bridged to the next level, you need to take a Grade Level Training course.
