What is Camp Connection?


Camp Connection is GSNNJ's Virtual Summer Camp Experience!

Girls will interact with camp counselors virtually, enjoy team-building activities, games, arts & crafts, and story time. Girls will earn badges and participate in activities based on weekly themes that explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), Healthy Living, and Civics & History.

Sessions will be offered as a morning or afternoon session in 2-hour blocks (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) at the cost of $90 per week. Please note that morning sessions will be repeated in the afternoons, and sessions with the same theme are also repeated information (e.g., Sessions 1 & 4 are the same).

Designed for Girl Scout Daisies through Cadettes, weekly sessions encourages girls to make friends and participate in 100% live interactive activities with camp staff. Earn a Girl Scout badge or patch and enjoy all of the activities you will receive in your Happy Camper Kit (includes the Girl Scout badge or patch and the program supplies you'll need to participate from your own home).

Session 1: Invent, Innovate, Iterate (July 5-9) AM & PM

Session 1: Invent, Innovate, Iterate (July 5-July 9) AM and PM

Calling all curious inventors and innovators. Spend some time this summer exploring science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and thinking about what interests you most while learning about careers in STEM. Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies will create their own superhero characters and develop new board games, and Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes will learn about, hear from, and talk with special guests in STEM careers. Program fee includes Happy Camper kit and badge earned.

Session 2: My Brain and Me (July 12-16) AM & PM

Session 2: My Brain and Me (July 12-July 16) AM and PM

The health of your brain affects your moods, reactions, and behaviors. Everyone’s brain is a little different and reacts in its own unique way. In this session, we’ll explore the different parts of the brain through an interactive craft, and we’ll learn how to improve our mental health. We’ll explore how to calm our brain when stressed or anxious through activities such as meditation and breathing techniques. Plus, we’ll make a Glitter Mind jar to better understand mindfulness. Throughout this week Girl Scouts will become more aware of the stigmas on mental illness, connect with how this may personally impact them, and take the initiative to reduce the stigma on mental illness. Program fee includes Happy Camper Kit and patch earned.

Session 3: Bold and Brave (July 19-23) AM & PM

Session 3: Bold and Brave (July 19-July 23) AM and PM

Design your own Capital Building as we take an in-depth look at democracy. Discover how the government of the United States of America works, including the different levels and branches. Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies will learn who our presidents were, while Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes will learn which states and territories make up our country. You’ll earn your Girl Scout Democracy Badge through games, interactive activities, and discussions with special guests. Program fee includes Happy Camper kit and badge earned. 

Badge earned: Girl Scout Daisy Democracy Badge, Girl Scout Brownie Democracy Badge, Girl Scout Junior Democracy Badge, or Girl Scout Cadette Democracy Badge
