Canceling our in-person Summer Day Camps for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic was a difficult and sad decision that unfortunately had to be made. We are so looking forward to Summer 2021, and we've already begun our planning. We hope you will join us at one of our gorgeous camp properties when it is safe to open again!

Options regarding your 2020 camp deposit and refunds can be found below.

Frequently Asked Questions

I was registered and paid for a camp session(s). What do I do now?

If you have a camper enrolled for summer 2020, here are options for you to consider.

  1. Utilize your camp deposit for your 2020-2021 Girl Scout membership renewal (can be used for both girl and adult memberships). Any remaining funds will be returned to you or you can choose to donate them as indicated in number 4 below.
  2. Use your camp deposit to hold your girl's spot for summer 2021.
  3. Donate a portion of or the entire camp fees paid to support GSNNJ during these challenging times. All donations are fully tax-deductible.
  4. Receive a full refund.

Once you have decided on an option or if you have additional questions, contact our Customer Care staff with your decision at customercare@gsnnj.org and we will make the appropriate arrangements.

Any girl who earned a week of camp through the Fall Product and/or Cookie Program will be able to use her Goal Getter reward for the summer of 2021.

My Girl Scout earned Goal Getter credit toward her camp session through the Cookie Program. What are my options?

This year's Goal Getters may apply their $270 reward credit in the following way:

Hold Your Goal Getter Reward for Summer Day Camp 2021
The $270 Goal Getter reward can be used as a credit towards one week of camp during the 2021 Summer Camp season. Families are responsible to pay any deposit and additional fees associated with the week they choose.

If you’ve already paid an $80 deposit for summer camp, here are your options for processing your deposit:

Option 1: Renew Your Girl Scout Membership
Renew your Girl Scout Membership for the 2020-21 Girl Scout year. We’ll help you transfer your deposit over so that your family can re-register and any remaining funds will be returned to you, or you can choose to donate them (see Option 4).

Option 2: Use Your Deposit for Summer Day Camp 2021
Secure your girl’s spot for next summer at one of our summer day camps.

Option 3: Invest in Girls. Change the World.
Consider donating a portion of or the entire camp fees paid to support us during these challenging times. Like many individuals, organizations, and businesses, Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey is feeling a significant financial impact from the COVID-19 pandemic. While our council entered the COVID-19 crisis financially stable and has used its resources wisely, we still have considerable expenses to operate and maintain our facilities, programs, staff, and services.

Option 4: Request A Refund
If none of the above options are of interest to you, we will be glad to issue you a refund for your deposit.

Once you have decided on an option, contact our Customer Care staff with your decision at customercare@gsnnj.org and we will make the appropriate arrangements.

When do I need to make my decision regarding what to do with my deposits or payments?

All decisions with regard to use of payments and deposits should be made as soon as possible.

What is the financial impact of this decision on the council?
