Camp Connection FAQs

 

My child was registered for Summer Day Camp. Can I apply my payment toward Camp Connection virtual camp?
Yes! We would be happy to transfer your child to one or more of the Camp Connection sessions. Email customercare@gsnnj.org with your choice of sessions as well as your camper’s name, and we will make the transfer.

  • If a balance is due, you will be emailed with directions on how to pay the balance.
  • If a refund is due, we can apply it to your 2021 Girl Scout membership, refund you the balance, or use the funds as a donation.

My child was registered for Summer Day Camp. Do I have to pick the same session for Camp Connection? 
No, she can choose any or all of the three (3)options. Simply email customercare@gsnnj.org with your child’s name and the sessions she would like to participate in, as well as whether you would like the AM or PM time frame. We will make the transfer and distribute any remaining payments as you indicate.

How do I pick up the Happy Camper Kit for my child?
An email will be sent two (2) weeks prior to the start date to sign up for a time and location (one of our Service Centers) of where to pick up the kit.

Is there a Happy Camper Kit for each session?
Yes! There is a different box for each session.

Is everything my child needs for Camp Connection in the Happy Camper Kit?
The majority of what your child will need for the camp session will be in the box. A list of common household items (e.g., scissors, pencil, crayons, etc.) that may be needed will be emailed approximately two (2) weeks prior to the first day of camp.

I opted to have the Happy Camper Kit shipped to my home. When can I expect to receive the kit?
Kits will be shipped via USPS shortly after the program registration closes for that session date, which is approximately 2 weeks prior to the first day of camp.

Can I check the ZOOM meeting link before the first day of camp?
We will have a test run prior to the Monday of the session. Details will be emailed in the second confirmation email approximately two (2) weeks prior to the first day of camp.

Is the badge my child earns during Camp Connection included or do I have to buy it?
Any badge earned during Camp Connection will be included in your Happy Camper Kit and is included in the registration fee.

When will I receive the ZOOM link?
The date and time of the ZOOM test run will be emailed in the second confirmation that will be emailed 2 weeks prior to the opening day of your camp session.

Can I move the registration to another session?
Transfers must be requested 14 days in advance via email to customercare@gsnnj.org, and will be accommodated if space is available in the requested session. 

Can I get a refund?
If your child is unable to attend, an email request must be sent to customercare@gsnnj.org at least 14 days in advance of the start of the session. Refunds are given minus 15% of the fee. In certain circumstances, like a medical emergency, a refund may be considered with a doctor’s note within 7 days of the start of your camp session.

What if a session is cancelled?
If the session is cancelled, you will be notified by email after the registration closing date. If the session is running as scheduled, you will receive the detailed confirmation two (2) weeks prior to the session start date. A full refund is given only if GSNNJ cancels the session.
