Camperships

Give the gift of Summer Camp: With a Campership donation, your gift offers girls the opportunity to learn and grow inside and out through summer programs that include swimming, hiking, outdoor cooking, archery, horseback riding, environmental exploration, arts and crafts, boating, S.T.E.M. activities, and so much more.

Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey has three summer programs for girls: Jockey Hollow Day Camp in Mendham, N.J., Lake Rickabear Day Camp in Kinnelon, N.J., and Celebrate Girls Summer Program in Paterson, N.J.

Your contribution helps:

  • Provide camperships so that those in need can experience the magic of Girl Scout summer camp programs
  • Recruit and retain dynamic staff to engage and mentor girls in our summer programs
  • Maintain beautiful properties and facilities at our camps
  • Provide age-appropriate materials and resources for girls in summer programs

At Girl Scouts, girls feel comfortable acquiring new skills in a safe and supportive all-girl environment in a community unlike any other. Girls find the courage within themselves to meet new people, make friends, and bond. Summer camp has unlimited potential to unlock or boost a girl’s confidence and Girl Scout summer programs offer the ultimate character-building experience.

To make your donation, use the drop-down menu on The G.I.R.L. Fund donation page and choose "Campership" to designate your contribution.

Circle of Friends

The Circle of Friends Giving Society was founded in 2017 by generous champions of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey who made multi-year pledges of $5,000 or more to ensure the long-term sustainability.

We are truly grateful for our dedicated society members* who help us to guarantee that girls in northern New Jersey will continue to have the opportunity to experience Girl Scouts and become girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Corporations and Foundations

We are grateful for the support we receive from corporations and foundations who provide us with the funding we need to empower the next generation of female leaders.

Benefits of corporate sponsorship may include recognition at our events, on our website, and via our social media efforts and be customized to meet the needs of the sponsoring organization in conjunction with GSNNJ.  We value financial support as well as volunteerism and mentorship.

Our signature fundraising event is  Women of Achievement 2020 which will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.  We are actively seeking corporate sponsors and thank you in advance for your consideration of support.

Contact our Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations Lauren Gurry at lgurry@gsnnj.org  or 973-248-8200, to learn how your company or foundation can invest in girls who will change the world.

L.E.A.D. Outreach Initiative & Celebrate Girls Paterson Summer Program

At Girl Scouts, girls prepare for a lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure in a safe, no-limits place designed for and by girls. We know, however, that some girls in underserved communities in northernNew Jersey, where our membership is not as strong due to insufficient numbers of volunteers or funding, are the ones who might benefit most from Girl Scouting.

Our Learn. Explore. Aspire. Dream. (L.E.A.D.) Outreach Initiative supports those girls, allowing them to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience—a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun activities such as earning badges, going on trips, selling cookies, exploring science, getting outdoors, and doing community service projects.

During the summer months, our Celebrate Girls Paterson Summer Program is where girls can gain important skills in four areas that form the foundation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience: Life Skills, Outdoors,Entrepreneurship, and S.T.E.M.

Themed activities make every day a fun, new adventure. Girls get to work on Girl Scout badges, attend weekly field trips, and participate in a Book Club. Activities also include: Outdoor games; Nature walks; Sports; Swimming; Bike riding; Arts & crafts; Drama; Dance; Hands-on science activities; and so much more!

Our L.E.A.D. Outreach Initiative and Celebrate Girls Paterson Summer Program are generously supported by corporations, foundations, and other donors. Contact our Chief Program Officer Charisse Taylor at ctaylor@gsnnj.org or 973-248-8200, to learn how you can help build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Planned Giving (Juliette Gordon Low Society)
JGL logo

The Juliette Gordon Low Society recognizes donors who support the mission of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey even after their lifetime through planned giving.

In March 1912, Juliette Gordon Low gathered just a few girls to begin the Girl Scouts. Juliette’s outstanding leadership was matched by her stewardship when she converted the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scout national headquarters, and she gifted to Girl Scouts in her will. Juliette’s bequest was the beginning of planned giving to Girl Scouts.

In her memory, the Juliette Gordon Low Society was established to thank and honor friends of Girl Scouting who choose to make Girl Scouts part of their legacies and a beneficiary of their estate plans. Estate plans can include a will, retirement plan, living trust, donor advised fund, life insurance policy, charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust, charitable lead trust, remainder gift of real estate, and any other gift that benefits Girl Scouts in the future.

Thank you to our Juliette Gordon Low Society Members:

Workplace Giving

United Way Annual Campaign: Many employers participate in the United Way Annual Campaign, which allows employees to contribute to a charity of choice through payroll deduction. Also, many companies will match their employee’s charitable contributions through matching gifts programs.   Please check with your HR Representative about designating your gift to Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey.

Matching Gifts provide you with an easy way to potentially double, if not triple, your original donation! Many organizations supplement their employees’ contributions to some organizations (specifications of the match vary based upon each organization). Your company, your spouses’ company, or even a company you are retired from may match your gift. Contact your company intranet or HR department to learn more about the form to submit with your gift to GSNNJ.

Volunteer Service Grants are corporate giving programs in which companies provide monetary donations to organizations where employees volunteer regularly. If you volunteer for the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey, please check with your company to see if your company offers this amazing opportunity.  Fifteen percent of the funds received from volunteer service grants can go directly back to your troop!
