Activities with Ashley

Join Program Manager Ashley for Activities with Ashley, a weekly broadcast on our Facebook pageFridays at 3:30 p.m. Activities, designed for girls in grades K-5, will incorporate and explore the four pillars of Girl Scouting: Life Skills, Entrepreneurship, Outdoors, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). 

Girls can follow along as Ashley teaches a new craft or activity that they can do at home, or replay the videos found here and repeat the activity at their convenience. No reservations necessary. Just follow us on Facebook and join the fun! 

May 1, 2020: Making a Harmonica STEM Craft
Ashley will teach us how to make a harmonica and we'll learn about sound waves!

 

May 8, 2020: Ruby Bridges, Entrepreneur & How Girls Can Change the World
We'll learn through stories and poems about girls and women who have changed the world and discover how you can change the world, too!


May 15, 2020: STEM Architecture Challenge

Let's learn about architecture! We'll be listening to the audio book, Iggy Peck, Architect and tackle a STEM architecture building challenge.


May 22, 2020: The Brownie Story 

Special guest Betty Garger, CEO and President of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey, joins Ashley and her audience, and reads The Brownie Story to them.


May 29, 2020: STEM Banjo Craft

Building on our previous harmonica-making activity and considering what we learned about soundwaves, we'll will make a new instrument—a banjo!


June 5, 2020: Toilet Paper Tube Crafts, Episode 1: How to Make A Space Shuttle

This is the first of our three-part series of toilet paper tube crafts. We will be making space shuttles and learning about them.

June 12, 2020: Toilet Paper Tube Crafts, Episode 2: How to Make A Butterfly
We will discover how a toilet paper tube can be transformed into a beautiful butterfly!
