Explore the hometown of Juliette Gordon Low, founder of the Girl Scout movement, during our Discover Savannah: Birthplace Bound tour for Girl Scout Daisies-Ambassadors and Adults, Nov. 3-Nov. 6 . With the guidance of a GSNNJ staff member, you'll travel to Savannah by train and be welcomed there by the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia staff. You and your adult chaperone will step inside Juliette's home, play games in her parlor, and learn Girl Scout history in the very place where the first Girl Scout troops gathered. During the trip, Girl Scouts will participate in two very special pinning ceremonies and earn patches to commemorate the journey. Then, we'll tour the city with its sweeping oaks draped in Spanish moss and framed by beautifully preserved historic homes. Learn about Savannah's history, from the founding of the Georgia colony and daring pirates to pivotal moments in the Civil Rights Movement, as we stroll its iconic brick-lined streets. We'll take a ghost tour and hear spine-tingling tales of one of America's most haunted cities. The adventure continues with a relaxing boat ride along the Savannah River to watch for dolphins. You'll have time to explore some of Savannah's famous 22 squares and historic riverfront on your own. Every detail of this trip is taken care of for you, including train transportation and dinners, so you can focus on the experience. Fees are based on and includes accommodations for 4 people/room.
