Cookies from Home
In 2021, Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey donated 121,804 Girl Scout Cookie packages and in 2020, over 93,000 packages, to emergency services, front-line healthcare and other workers, food pantries, and more, through the Cookies from Home program!
During order taking and cookie booth sales, customers are able to designate cookie purchases as donations for our Cookies from Home program, which are later delivered to recipients of the program.
In 2019, we donated 79,543 packages of cookies to the Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc., the New Jersey Army National Guard, and local food pantries.

Since 1636, the Citizen-Soldiers of the New Jersey Army National Guard have defended the homeland and fought our nation's wars. The NJ Army National Guard troops respond to domestic emergencies, combat missions, counterdrug efforts, reconstruction missions, and more. Whether the call is from New Jersey's governor or the President of the United States, Guard Soldiers are always ready to serve.

In 2019, GSNNJ Girl Scout Brownie Troop 96804 of Totowa accepted donations at their cookie booth sale to send cookies to our military troops overseas. They collected over 70 boxes of cookies (at a weight of 50 pounds). The girls wrote thank you notes on each of the boxes before sending. Staff Sergeant Christopher Romeo wrote back to them and their Troop Leader after receiving the care package:
"My name is Staff Sergeant
Christopher Romeo, I am currently stationed in Djibouti Africa with
the United States Army. I just wanted to take the time and thank you
as well as the Girl Scout Brownies of Troop 96804 for the Girl Scout
cookies along with the notes and pictures attached. We are very
grateful that you took the time to not only send, but to have them
personalize each box with their thoughts and creative pictures. This
really did boost our morale and we can't thank you enough. Please send
a big thank you from all of us here in Djibouti Africa to the girls
that made this happen back in the States. If they have any questions
about anything over here, feel free to ask and we will be more than
happy to respond. Thanks again.
Very Respectfully,
SSG
Christopher Romeo"
