In 2020, we made history with our first ever virtual Annual Meeting. While social distancing from home, Girl Scouts were able to gather virtually to get the meeting started by singing “Make New Friends, But Keep The Old,” a familiar tune to Girl Scouts (see video below). At the meeting, new GSNNJ Board members, Girl Representatives, and National Council delegates and alternates were sworn into office. Finally, the meeting concluded with a Q&A with our Executive Committee members.
We love our volunteers, and it was important to us to find a safe way to thank them for their hard work and dedication, even during a pandemic. Our 7,500 volunteers found creative ways to engage with our members to continue the Girl Scout Leadership Experience when our girls needed it most. We recognized their outstanding efforts with our first ever Adult Recognition Drive-Through Parade and celebrated them for being cheerleaders, guides, and mentors to our Girl Scouts, helping them develop essential life skills and confidence that will last a lifetime.
