​At Jockey Hollow Camp in Mendham, New Jersey, there are 212 pristine acres to explore and enjoy. With a large swimming pool, low-ropes challenge course, and zip line, beautiful equestrian center, archery range, playing field, and adventurous hiking trails, the fun is endless!

Six luxurious cabins and activity shelters, plus a large troop house and spacious pavilion, allow the fun to continue no matter the weather. All cabins have kitchens and bathrooms for overnight experiences.

Session 1 (July 5-8)
Program Description

Jockey Hollow Summer Fun

Session 1

Gr 1-9

Fee: $300

 

Join us for a jam-packed week of exciting activities! Cool off in our beautiful pool each day (weather permitting) during your combined swim lesson and free swim period. Cook lunch over an open fire on Thursday. Learn crazy camp songs, play field games, and get creative during arts & crafts. Strengthen your self-esteem and practice teamwork at the Low Ropes Challenge Course. Explore the Jockey Hollow forest with the Environmental Education Specialist and work on Girl Scout badges. If you are in Grade 2 or higher, you can try your hand at archery. If you are in Grade 4 or higher, you can take a ride on the zipline. Other Jockey Hollow Summer Fun activities may include playing GaGa (a form of dodgeball) in our pit, hiking the trails, exploring streams, playing a game of 9 Square in the Air, participating in camp-wide service projects, and so much more. Weekly theme activities make each session unique. Themes are announced on the first day of each session. End the week at Friday Fest, which will include a theme-based activity. Campers are grouped in units of 15-20 girls according to grade level. New fun and friendships await you at camp this summer. 

Pony Pals

Gr 1-3

Fee: $425

Giddy up! Hang out at the horse corral for 1 1/2 hours each day (weather permitting), Tuesday through Friday, learning horsemanship basics from trained professionals in a safe, non-threatening environment. This hands-on program will teach you about grooming, leading, and basic care of your pony. Mount up for basic riding in the ring or hand-walking on trails (weather permitting). Spend the remainder of each day participating in some of the Jockey Hollow Summer Fun activities. 

Horsemanship

Gr 4-8

Fee: $440

Discover and foster your love of horses at Jockey Hollow’s corral this summer. Spend 2 fun-filled hours a day (weather permitting), Tuesday through Friday, at the corral grooming, tacking, and learning trail etiquette. Saddle up for a daily 20-30 minute riding session or enjoy a trail ride through our majestic woodlands (weather permitting). Fill the remainder of each day participating in some of the Jockey Hollow Summer Fun activities. 

Tie Dye with a Twist

Gr 6-9

Fee: $325

Discover the joy of tie dying and try some unique tie dying techniques you may not know such as reverse dying, natural dying, and more. Take your unusual creations home with you, too. Spend the remainder of each day participating in some of the Jockey Hollow Summer Fun session activities.

Counselor in Training

(2-week session)

Gr 9-10

(must be 14 yrs old as of 7/5/22)

Fee: $525

 

Get ready to begin your journey toward being a camp counselor! Girls entering Grades 9 and 10 (and who are age 14 as of 7/5/22) can register for this two-week leadership training program. During the first week, you’ll develop the skills needed to mentor younger girls and understand their needs in a camp setting. In the second week, you’ll use your newly acquired skills working with units under the guidance of camp counselors. Upon successful completion of this program, you’ll earn your CIT pin and have the option to volunteer for one or more weeks during the remainder of the camp season. Plus, you’ll receive an exclusive CIT shirt to tie dye.  

Counselor in Training II

(2-week session)

Gr 10-11

(pre-requisite: completion of CIT during summer 2021)

Fee: $525

If you’ve already completed the Counselor in Training program, you can continue to build camp counselor skills during this two-week session. During the first week, learn what goes on behind the scenes to enable a camp to run safely and efficiently. Focus on conflict management, leadership skills, unit planning and more during this leadership development experience. In the second week, you’ll use your newly acquired skills working with units under the guidance of camp counselors. Upon successful completion of this program, you will earn your CIT II pin and have the option to volunteer for one or more weeks during the remainder of camp. Plus, you'll receive an exclusive CIT II shirt to tie dye.

Art Attack

Gr 6-9

Fee: $405

It’s DIY week at camp. Bring your creativity and join us for a creative camp week. Activities may include projects such as string art, decoupage, macramé, or batik. Use unique tools and materials to make four different do-it-yourself projects to take home.

Counselor in Training

(2-week session)

You will spend these 2 weeks learning how to live off the land by building a debris hut, constructing a nature still for water, becoming confident with a compass and map, assembling a personal survivor kit to keep, and much more. The camp session culminates with a Survivor Challenge, and all the fun without being eliminated at Tribal Council.

The Magical World of Wizardry

Back by popular demand, this camp session will transport you to a world of wizardry. Attend a potions and herbology class, play a round of a magical game, and even make and enjoy a glass of a buttery beverage.

Discover how to take better care of yourself by eating healthy, exercising, unwinding, and more. During this session you will have the opportunity to participate in Zumba, make your own spa treatments such as scrubs and bath salts, relax during yoga, and enjoy fresh fruit smoothies.
