Camp Sessions for Summer Discoverers (Grades 2-3)

Summer Discoverer Program 

Summer Discoverer Campers: enjoy a fun-filled week of outdoor adventure, creativity, learning, and unforgettable memories at one of our beautiful camp properties! Each day (weather permitting), you can participate in the activities listed for your camp. Each camp offers unique opportunities and amenities.

This program is available Sessions 1-7.

Lake Rickabear Camp Specialty Sessions

All About Horses at Lake Rickabear Camp (Grades 1-3)

Giddy up and spend part of your camp day at the horse corral, where you'll learn the basics of horsemanship in a safe, supportive environment led by trained professionals from Seaton Hackney Stables. From Tuesday through Friday (weather permitting), you’ll enjoy 1.5 hours of hands-on activities with horses each day—grooming, leading, and learning how to care for your pony. You’ll even get to mount up and practice basic riding skills in the ring! The rest of your day will be filled with Lake Rickabear Summer Explorer program activities, including American Red Cross swim lessons and open swim time (weather permitting), plus games, crafts, and outdoor adventures.

Monday kicks off the week with a full day of Lake Rickabear Summer Explorer Program fun, giving you a chance to dive into camp life before heading to the corral. Whether you're a first-time rider or just love being around horses, this program offers the perfect blend of equestrian excitement and summer camp magic!

This program is available Sesssions 2 through 6.  

Twilight Camp Time (Grades K-9)

Stay longer, after your camp day, for an evening of camp sunset activities without the full overnight stay! You’ll enjoy games, crafts, an extra swim, and dinner (all activities are weather permitting). It’s the perfect introduction to overnight camp.

  • Session 3, Wednesday, July 15
  • Session 4, Wednesday, July 22
  • Session 5, Wednesday, July 29
  • Session 6, Wednesday, Aug. 5
  • Session 7, Wednesday, Aug. 12

Starlight Overnights (Grades 3-9)

Spend an overnight at camp! If you’re in Grade 3 or older, you can stay longer, after your camp day, to participate in evening games, songs, an extra swim, and more (all activities are weather permitting). Enjoy dinner with your camp friends and end the night with s’mores by the campfire before heading off to bed. You’ll wake up to breakfast at camp and more camp fun!

  • Session 6, Wednesday, Aug. 5

Jockey Hollow Camp Specialty Sessions

All About Horses at Jockey Hollow Camp (Grades 1-3)

Giddy up and spend part of your camp day at the horse corral, where you'll learn the basics of horsemanship in a safe, supportive environment led by trained professionals from Seaton Hackney Stables. From Tuesday through Friday (weather permitting), you will spend 1.5 hours each day at the horse corral, where you’ll practice grooming and leading techniques. Learn the basics of pony care and barn safety, explore trail etiquette and horse behavior on one of our four beautiful riding trails, and mount up for basic riding in the ring or hand-walking on trails. Build confidence and strengthen your communication and teamwork skills as you care for and work alongside your fellow campers and ponies. 

The rest of each day is filled with Jockey Hollow Summer Explorer Program activities including swimming, crafts, nature exploration, and more—creating a well-rounded camp experience that blends skill-building with adventure.
