Summer Adventurer Program
Summer Adventurer Campers: enjoy a fun-filled week of outdoor adventure, creativity, learning, and unforgettable memories at one of our beautiful camp properties! Each day (weather permitting), you can participate in the activities listed for your camp. Each camp offers unique opportunities and amenities.

Twilight Camp Time (Grades K-9)
Stay longer, after your camp day, for an evening of camp sunset activities without the full overnight stay! You’ll enjoy games, crafts, an extra swim, and dinner (all activities are weather permitting). It’s the perfect introduction to overnight camp.
This program is available:
Starlight Overnights (Grades 3-9)
Spend an overnight at camp! If you’re in Grade 3 or older, you can
stay longer, after your camp day, to participate in evening games,
songs, an extra swim, and more (all activities are weather
permitting). Enjoy dinner with your camp friends and end the night
with s’mores by the campfire before heading off to bed. You’ll wake up
to breakfast at camp and more camp fun!

Day & Stay Residence Camp Experience (Grades 8-10)
Participate in our brand-new Day & Stay Residence Camp Experience at Lake Rickabear Camp in Kinnelon.
During Week 1, enjoy daily participation in the Lake Rickabear Summer Explorer Program activities. Attend daily camp and travel to and from home via the camp bus, with the Wednesday overnight included. Spend some time planning your meals and evening activities for your upcoming overnight stays.
During Week 2, experience residence camp by spending Monday through Friday, sleeping overnight in our rustic Maple Glen Cabins. You’ll be chaperoned by two counselors and one administrator, who will also be staying each night in the Tumbling Bear Cabin. Bathrooms and showers are nearby at the Beach Bathhouse. An EMT/nurse will be on property at all times in our Health Office. During Week 2, all meals will be provided.
The Day & Stay Residence Camp Experience at Lake Rickabear Camp is a two-week program, and those registered for it MUST attend the two consecutive weeks.
Available during Sessions 2 & 3, Sessions 4 & 5, and Sessions 6 & 7.
Tack & Trails at Lake Rickabear Camp (Grades 4-8)
This summer, take your love of horses to the next level with our immersive equestrian program designed to develop real-world skills and confidence. From Tuesday through Friday (weather permitting), you’ll spend two focused hours each day at the Lake Rickabear Camp corral, learning alongside trained professionals from Seaton Hackney Stables in a safe and encouraging environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience in grooming and tacking, barn management and daily care routines, trail etiquette and safety practices, and basic riding techniques during a 20–30-minute session in the ring.
This program is perfect for campers who want to deepen their understanding of horse care and riding while building responsibility, patience, and teamwork. Outside of the corral, you’ll enjoy Lake Rickabear Summer Adventurer Program activities—including American Red Cross swim lessons, open swim time (weather permitting), games, crafts, and outdoor adventures. Monday kicks off the week with a full day of Core Camp program fun, giving you a chance to dive into camp life before heading to the corral. Whether you're new to horses or looking to sharpen your skills, this program offers a unique opportunity to grow as a rider and caretaker—all while having a blast at camp!

D-I-Y Oh My! (Grades 4 & 5)
Join us for a DIY artistic creation week at camp! Bring your imagination and creativity and explore a variety of different artistic media. You’ll spend two hours a day using different tools and materials to make 4 different projects to take home with you. Earn your Girl Scout Outdoor Art Apprentice Badge. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Lake Rickabear Summer Adventurer Program activities.

Designing Robots (Grades 4 & 5)
Spend two hours a day learning the principles of engineering, programming, and problem-solving through hands-on robotics activities, working with fellow campers. Earn your Girl Scout Robotics 1: Designing Robots badge. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Lake Rickabear Summer Adventurer Program activities.
Available Session 4 (July 20-24)
Chefs of Lake Rickabear Camp (Grades 4 & 5)
You’ll spend two hours a day learning important kitchen skills, as you make a scrumptious breakfast, flavorful lunch, delicious dinner, and delightful dessert, while earning your Girl Scout Simple Meals badge. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Lake Rickabear Summer Adventurer Program activities.
Available Session 6 (Aug. 3-7)
Room Decor Galore (Grades 6-8)
Glam up your bedroom or other personal space as you earn your Girl Scout Science of Happiness badge! Spend two hours a day designing a tie dye pillowcase, creating an abstract piece of art for your bedroom wall, making a drink coaster for your night table, and learning how to decorate your own personal space. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Lake Rickabear Summer Adventurer Program activities.
Available Session 2 (July 6-10)
Caring for Me! (Grades 6-8)
Discover how to take good care of yourself through healthy eating, exercising, unwinding, and more! During this session, you will spend two hours a day participating in some fun fitness activities, making your own spa treatments such as scrubs and bath salts, relaxing during yoga, and enjoying fresh fruit smoothies, as you earn your Girl Scout Eating for You Badge. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Lake Rickabear Summer Adventurer Program activities.

Daytime Detective (Grades 6-8)
Calling all curious minds and future investigators! Here's your chance to be a daytime Detective and crack the case with techniques used by real forensic scientists. Spend two hours a day learning about fingerprint comparisons, sharpening your observation skills, and more, as you earn your Girl Scout Detective Badge. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Lake Rickabear Summer Adventurer activities.

Self-defense & Safety (Grades 6-8)
Build your confidence while learning important life skills for safety. During this fun, challenging, and engaging week, you’ll spend two hours a day exploring a variety of self-defense arts and learning self-defense strategies and techniques from American Self Defense. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Lake Rickabear Summer Adventurer Program activities.

Trail Trekking (Grades 6-8)
Explore scenic Lake Rickabear Camp as you earn your Girl Scout Trailblazing Badge. You’ll spend two hours a day learning to read maps and follow trails, identify plants and animals, practice personal safety, observe “Leave No Trace” principles, choose the proper equipment, and plan your own group hike. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Lake Rickabear Summer Adventurer Program activities.

Out & About Camper Program (Grades 7-10)
As an Out & About Camper, you’ll enjoy all the Lake Rickabear
Summer Adventurer Program activities, including swimming, archery,
ziplining, crafts, field games, and more. In addition, we’ll take a
day trip on Wednesday. Trip and transportation fees are included in
the cost of your camp session.

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program Level 1 (Grades 9 & 10)
Ready to take the first step toward becoming a camp counselor? Join our two-week Counselor-in-Training Program Level 1 (CIT I) for girls entering Grades 9 and 10 (must be age 14 by June 30, 2026). Our CIT I program is designed to build your leadership, mentoring, and communication skills in a fun and supportive camp environment.
During Week 1, you will participate in interactive workshops and hands-on activities focused on: understanding child development and camper needs, practicing effective communication and conflict resolution, learning how to lead games, songs, and group activities, and building confidence and teamwork.
In Week 2, you will apply your new skills by working directly with camper units under the guidance of experienced camp counselors—gaining real-world experience and valuable feedback. Upon successful completion, you’ll earn your CIT I pin, receive an exclusive CIT shirt to tie dye, and be given the opportunity to volunteer for additional weeks during the camp season.

Once you've successfully completed the Counselor-in-Training Program Level 1 (CIT I), you're ready to take the next step in your leadership journey with Level 2 (CIT II)—a two-week experience designed to deepen your understanding of what it takes to be an effective camp counselor.
During Week 1, you'll go behind the scenes to learn how camp operations run safely and smoothly. Through hands-on workshops and team-based activities, you'll build advanced skills in conflict management and resolution, leadership and decision-making, unit planning and program design, and camper engagement and behavior support.
In Week 2, you'll put your skills into action by working directly with camper units under the mentorship of experienced counselors—gaining practical experience and valuable feedback to help you grow.
Upon successful completion, you'll earn your CIT II pin, receive an exclusive CIT shirt to tie dye, and you’ll be given the option to volunteer for additional weeks during the camp season. This program is ideal for teens who are serious about developing leadership, communication, and youth mentoring skills in a fun and supportive camp environment.

Tack & Trails at Jockey Hollow Camp (Grades 4-8)
Discover and grow your passion for horses in this immersive equestrian experience at the Jockey Hollow Camp corral. From Tuesday through Friday (weather permitting), you’ll spend two focused hours each day learning foundational horsemanship skills while working with trained professionals from Seaton Hackney Stables in a safe and supportive environment. Refine your grooming and tacking techniques, learn advanced trail etiquette and horse care, strengthen communication and leadership skills through barn management tasks, and enjoy daily 20–30-minute riding sessions or trail rides on one of our four scenic trails.
This program is perfect for campers who are ready to take on more challenges and expand their horsemanship abilities. The rest of each day is filled with Jockey Hollow Summer Adventurer Program activities, including swimming, nature exploration, crafts, and games—offering a well-rounded camp experience that blends skill-building with adventure.

Camping Skills (Grades 4 & 5)
Spend two hours each day learning some of the skills needed for enjoying the great outdoors as you earn your Girl Scout Eco Camper Badge. During this session filled with fun and adventure, you’ll work as a team to set up and break down a tent. Prepare for and go on a hike. Discover how to make your own fire starters for campfires, and much more. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Jockey Hollow Summer Adventurer Program activities.

Early Engineers (Grades 4 & 5)
Discover what it takes to be an engineer as you earn your Girl Scout Create and Innovate badge. You’ll spend two hours each day designing and building various structures through hands-on activities, as you explore being an originator, a designer, an architect, an inventor, a developer, and a creator. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Jockey Hollow Summer Adventurer Program activities.

Prepare, cook, and taste different breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals cooked over an open fire (weather permitting). Art All Around (Grades 4 & 5)
Spend two hours each day discovering natural art and design found throughout Jockey Hollow Camp. You will use your creativity and self-expression to experiment with the elements, explore composition, and create your own masterpieces, as you earn your Girl Scout Junior Art & Design Badge. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Jockey Hollow Summer Adventurer Program activities.
Available Session 6 (Aug. 3-7)
Me, Outside the Mirror (Grades 6-8)
Spend two hours each day discovering how to take good care of yourself through healthy eating, exercising, unwinding, and more! During this session, you will participate in some fun fitness activities, work with younger campers to unlock the importance of self-care, practice journaling, relax during yoga, and enjoy fresh fruit smoothies. You’ll also earn your Girl Scout Outside the Mirror Badge. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Jockey Hollow Summer Adventurer Program activities.

Off-the-Grid Camper Challenge (Grades 6-8)
Learn how to read a trail map, use a compass, and construct a nature still to collect water. You’ll spend two hours a day learning how to assemble a personal survivor kit to keep and take home. Become confident in your outdoor navigation skills as you earn your Girl Scout Primitive Camper Badge. This session will end with a Survivor Challenge game to review what you’ve learned. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Jockey Hollow Summer Adventurer Program activities.

Intro to First Aid (Grades 6-8)
Spend two hours a day learning how to deal with minor injuries and illnesses and how to recognize and respond to some more serious conditions as you work on your Girl Scout Cadette First Aid Badge. Through completion of this session, you will learn how to use everything in a first aid kit and how to identify and safely respond to other health emergencies. This session will also include visits from our local First Responders. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Jockey Hollow Summer Advenutre Program activities.

Outdoor Cooking Challenge (Grades 6-8)
Spend two hours a day learning and mastering a different style of outdoor cooking each day, using equipment such as pie irons, a Dutch Oven, a box oven, and more. Prepare, cook, and taste different breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals cooked over an open fire (weather permitting), as you earn your Girl Scout New Cuisines badge. End the session with a team culinary challenge using a basket of mystery items to show off your newly acquired cooking skills. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Jockey Hollow Summer Adventurer Program activities.

Get ready for some tough competition and friendly rivalry when we shout, “1, 2, 3, 4, Time for Jockey Color Wars!” From friends playing together in the park to countries competing against one another at the Olympics, games unite us all. In this session, you’ll spend two hours a day planning group games, teaching team cheers, and helping plan and host our Wednesday Special Interest and Friday Fest, as you earn your Girl Scout Good Sportsmanship Badge. Fill the remainder of each day participating in Jockey Hollow Summer Adventurer Program activities.
