If you love being outdoors and are looking for meaningful summer work, Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey offers more than just a job, it’s a chance to make an impact. Join us at one of our beautiful camp locations, Jockey Hollow Camp in Mendham or Lake Rickabear Camp in Kinnelon, where every day is fast-paced, high-energy, and purpose-driven. At Jockey Hollow Camp, there are 212 pristine acres to explore and enjoy. With a large "L"-shaped swimming pool, Low Ropes Challenge Course and Zip Line, beautiful equestrian center, archery range, playing field, and adventurous hiking trails. Lake Rickabear Day Camp sits on 332 acres of land including a beautiful 40-acre, spring-fed lake, perfect for swimming, pedal boating, paddle boarding, and row boating. The fun is endless!

Our summer camps are welcoming, inclusive environments where staff reflect the diverse communities we serve and work together to create safe, joyful, and empowering experiences for campers. Whether you’re leading activities, mentoring campers, or supporting camp operations, you’ll build valuable leadership, teamwork, and professional skills while helping girls grow in confidence and independence.

Each summer, we hire counselors, lifeguards, activity specialists, administrative and communications staff, kitchen staff, seasonal maintenance support, and more. We offer competitive pay, training and certification opportunities, and a supportive culture focused on learning, collaboration, and personal growth.

Become a Certified Lifeguard or renew your certification and work at our Lake Rickabear and Jockey Hollow camps. We need Lifeguards from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, on weekends and weekdays during our summer camp sessions.

Course Location: Lake Rickabear Camp (414 Kinnelon Road), Kinnelon, NJ

Work four or more weeks as our Camp Lifeguard and get reimbursed for course fees (must be age 15+ to take the course and age 16+ to work at our camps).
