Enjoy a Fashion Show Dance Party camping experience at Jockey Hollow Day Camp in Mendham. First girls will learn the art of sketching their own outfit, making design decisions and selecting , colors , fabrics and patterns. These sketches can be brought home to frame! Then, girls participate in a "Met Gala"styled challenge "The Garden of Time", designing an outfit combining fashion,art and nature. Bring your denim or any piece of clothing you want to re-create. Then select from fabrics, trims and the outdoors using straight pins to drape the materials. Learn how to hand sew with a professional seamstress - Nayibe Manrique and make a pattern to cut out the fabric. Bring a camera to capture each girls design. On Saturday girls will present a fashion show displaying their designs and tell the story behind their inspiration. Followed by a dance party. Fee includes accomodations, night snack, breakfast, lunch, fabric and sewing supplies. Brownies will earn the Outdoor Art Creator badge Juniors will earn the Drawing badge. Financial aid available upon request. This is not a drop off event so please adhere to ratio requirements.
