Sensational Stars
Get a closer look at the stars in our traveling Star Lab planetarium that brings the stars down to Earth! Work on your space science badge and spend time studying the constellations and other wonders of the night sky. Girl Scout Daisies earn the Daisy Space Science Explorer Badge. Girl Scout Brownies work toward the Space Science Adventurer Badge (Steps 1, 2, 3, 4). Juniors work towards the Space Science Investigator Badge (Steps 1,2, and 4). All participants will also earn the STEM Pillar Patch. Completed badges can be purchased at our council shops.
- Level: Girl Scout Daisies-Juniors
- Program Length: 90-minute presentations for Daisy and Brownie Levels, 2 hours for Juniors
- Total Length: Our instructor will require 45 minutes each for set-up and clean-up, in addition to the program length
- Minimum: 12 girls
- Maximum: 22 girls
- Price: $20 per girl

Note: The Star Lab can hold up to 25 people. Star Lab presentations are appropriate for all ages; however, we will group presentations by age level. A space of at least 25 feet by 25 feet with at least 12-foot-high ceilings is needed. The Star Lab cannot be set up outside. A single AC electrical outlet must be available. We will need adults to be able to assist with badge-earning activities and to come into the Star Lab, especially for the Daisy and Brownie levels – it’s dark inside. Please register a minimum of 4 adults for Daisies and 3 for Brownies.
Star Lab: Space Science Researcher
Calling all Girl Scout Cadettes! Join us for a hands-on scientific adventure as we explore the Sun, stars, and other celestial wonders in our immersive Star Lab program. In this dynamic 2-hour session, you’ll work toward earning your Space Science Researcher badge by conducting exciting experiments like constructing a spinner, creating sunprints, and learning how to classify stars.
You’ll also become a citizen scientist by helping to tackle the problem of light pollution through collaborative activities.
Completed badges can be purchased at our council shops.
This is a Program on the Go—we bring the experience right to your meeting space! Please note, a Certificate of Insurance (COI) must be provided in advance. The program requires an indoor space of at least 25 ft by 25 ft with ceilings at least 12 ft high.
