Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pay for registration?

Registration is on a first come, first served basis. To register, register at  MY GS using the FIND EVENTS button.

  • Need assistance? Contact Customer Care at (973) 248-8200 during regular business hours or email customercare@gsnnj.org.
  • Only register those girls and adults who will attend the activity.
  • Do not register substitute participants.
  • Changes to registration will be subject to a 5% administrative change fee.
  • All program registrations require payment with a credit or debit card.
  • If an activity notes an "adult fee," then adults can attend only if they register and pay to attend.
  • Except for family events, adults must be current registered Girl Scout members in order to register for LINK program activities.
What are Opening & Closing dates?

Program activities become available for registration at 12:01 a.m. on the listed Opening Date. After 12:01 a.m., you will be able to register only until the activity registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on the listed Closing Date.

Registration may not be available or accepted after the listed Closing Date. For adding additional registrants in a troop or group to an activity, contact the program staff member listed in your confirmation email to inquire about possible availability.

How do I know my registration is valid?

Each participant who has registered will receive an emailed confirmation after payment has been made. Check your email spam folder if you have not received a confirmation. When registering, be sure to note the available spots indicated. If your order exceeds the number of spots available, then your registration will not go through.

What if I cannot attend an activity and need to cancel?
  • Full refunds are given only if GSNNJ cancels the program activity and it cannot be rescheduled.
  • Program activities may be cancelled due to low enrollment or inclement weather. Participants are notified via email after the registration closing date if the program has been cancelled.
  • If programs are cancelled due to inclement weather, you will receive an email about 3 hours prior to the program from the program manager.
As a Troop Leader, how do I handle Girl Scout ratios?
Ratios

Program opportunities are provided for registered Girl Scouts and their leaders, unless otherwise indicated as 1:1 (if desired). Additional adults are not permitted to register as they reduce the number of girl participants. Tagalongs (siblings and other non-registered girls) are not permitted at program activities. Non-registered girls are welcome to register for Girl Scout membership in advance and then register for a GSNNJ program activity or event. Ratios are the maximum, not suggested or minimum.

Please note: For any program activity with an adult fee, the appropriate number of adults for the age group must register and pay to attend the event. Payment will not be accepted at the program activity unless otherwise noted. Walk-ins are not accepted.

What is the refund policy?

If a troop/group or girl is unable to attend an event or program, a written request for a refund of the fee must be received or emailed to customercare@gsnnj.org, or to the program staff listed at the bottom of the confirmation at least 21 days prior to the event or program deadline, whichever comes first.

Refunds will be given minus 15% of the original girl or adult fees to cover administrative costs.

  • In certain circumstances, such as a medical emergency, a refund will be considered with a doctor’s written statement within 15 days after the event. (5% administrative fee may apply.)
  • Program activities/events conducted by other institutions have their own cancellation policies that GSNNJ cannot override. Refunds will be issued according to that institution’s policies.
  • All deposits are non-refundable.
Can my registration be transferred to someone else?

Transfers will be granted at the discretion of the program manager and are not guaranteed. Check that all participants are able to attend the program activity prior to registering. Only register girls and adults that are scheduled to attend. Do not register substitute participants. Transfers to a different session will be subject to a 5% administrative change fee. Transfers requested within 21 days of the program activity will not be processed and the participant is not eligible for a refund.
