Girls Make Dollars & Sense: Financial Empowerment Event

Join us for a free, interactive, financial empowerment event for new and already registered Girl Scouts in grades 2 through 8. Our Girls Make Dollars & Sense: Financial Empowerment Event will be held on Saturday, April 5, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Berkeley College, Renaissance Hall (44 Rifle Camp Road, Woodland Park).

Learn the tools to make smart money choices and invest in a bright future. Earn financial literacy badges as you practice and develop healthy financial habits. Learn about managing money and build your financial skills.

  • Girl Scout Financial Literacy Badge included 
  • Breakfast will be provided
  • Hands-on activities with GSNNJ Staff
  • Fun giveaways
  • For registered Girl Scouts only (drop-off event)
  • Families of attendees will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card 
  • Transportation is available (contact us to arrange)

Girl Scout Brownie Activities (Budget Builder Badge)
Brainstorm ideas for a fun day of adventure. Pick one and create a budget worksheet for how much it would cost for your fun day. Girl Scout Brownies will complete the following:

  • Find out how people spend their money: Roll the Dice to Spend
  • Learn How to Save: Keep a Savings Jar
  • Make a Budget + Set Goals: Budget for the future

Girl Scout Junior Activities (Savy Shopper Badge)
Determine what you need verses want you want. The Savvy Shopper badge teaches the difference between needs and wants and how to smartly save for both. Girl Scout Juniors will complete the following activities: 

  • Wants & Needs
  • Budget Makers
  •  Savvy Shopper

Girl Scout Cadette Activities (Budgeting Badge)
Drive your financial future. It may seem like a dream right now, but buying your own car could very well be in your future! It’s never too early to plan to make that dream a reality. Girl Scout Cadettes will complete the following activities:

  • Budgeting 
  • Comparison Shopping
  • Financing My Dreams
