The Girl Scout Cookie Program has always played an important role in teaching girls about entrepreneurship and life skills including:
During the 2021 cookie season, girls also had to adapt to the ongoing challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. They were tasked with finding new and creative ways to meet their cookie sales goals and deliver cookies to their customers throughout northern New Jersey.
In 2021, GSNNJ partnered with Grubhub to provide contactless cookie delivery directly to New Jersey residents’ homes. In addition to keeping everyone safe during the pandemic, the partnership also provided girls with hands-on experience managing e-commerce. Girls gained valuable, real-world business insights by learning how to track and fulfill orders and manage inventory through Grubhub’s back-end technology.
In 2021, Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey donated 121,804 Girl Scout Cookie packages to emergency services, front-line healthcare and other workers, food pantries, and more, through the Cookies from Home program!
During order taking and cookie booth sales, customers are able to designate cookie purchases as donations for our Cookies from Home program, which are later delivered to recipients of the program.
